One of the Ditton team was approached by a specialist in the parcels delivery business who had identified an opportunity to acquire a regional franchise for a national parcels delivery company. A business plan was developed by the Ditton consultant for a new company which would be set up to run the franchise. This plan was used to raise the necessary finance from a number of private investors and a local bank. A successful bid was then made for the franchise.

 

The new company grew rapidly and achieved a profit in its first year of operation. The Ditton consultant was asked to join an advisory board which has continued to meet on a quarterly basis since then. Numerous problems have been encountered in the intervening time, predominantly arising from the rapid growth of the company, however it has maintained profitability throughout the period and is now one of the largest and most successful franchises in the network.
